The State of Texas, acting through its Attorney General, placed American Meridian Insurance Company into Permanent Receivership on February 6, 2007. At the same time, the receivership case against American Meridian was consolidated into the receivership of its parent, American Eagle Insurance Company for the purpose of joint administration. Jack M. Webb is the Special Deputy Receiver of both American Eagle and American Meridian.
On April 1, 2010 the Receivership Court entered an Order Approving the Special Deputy Receiver's Final Report and Application to Make Final Distribution in American Meridian. (American Eagle's receivership proceeding remains open and is not affected by this order.)
The Special Deputy Receiver has made all distributions to American Meridian creditors pursuant to this order and filed the Final Accounting and Application to Terminate American Meridian Insurance Company Proceeding and Discharge Receiver and Special Deputy Receiver on June 2, 2010. The Order Approving Final Accounting, Terminating American Meridian Insurance Company Proceeding and Discharging Receiver and Special Deputy Receiver was entered on June 30, 2010.
