On May 6, 2005, the State of Texas placed Reliant American Insurance Company ("RAIC") into receivership for the purpose of rehabilitation in Cause No. GV 500016 in the 126th Judicial District Court of Travis County, Texas [the "Receivership Court"]. Subsequently, on January 30, 2006, RAIC's wholly owned subsidiary, Reliant American General Agency, Inc. ("RAGA") was placed into rehabilitation and its case substantively consolidated with RAIC. The receiverships, for the purpose of rehabilitation, are now permanent for both companies.

There has been no finding of insolvency for either company and no state insurance guaranty associations have been triggered.

The Commissioner of Insurance appointed Jack M. Webb & Associates, Inc. as the Special Deputy Receiver ("SDR") to handle the rehabilitation of RAIC and RAGA. All claims against Reliant American Insurance Company and Reliant American General Agency are now claims against their consolidated receivership estate and The Insurer Receivership Act, Chapter 443 of the Texas Insurance Code governs these proceedings.
On January 26, 2009, the Receivership Court approved the SDR's Plan to Effect Rehabilitaiton of RAIC and RAGA which is available for review on this website. Pursuant to that Plan, the claims filing deadline was set at April 1, 2009 and no late claims are allowed.
