Employers Casualty Company ("ECC") was a Texas domiciled property and casualty insurance company placed into receivership along with many of its affiliates and subsidiaries in 1994. Jack M. Webb is the Special Deputy Receiver ("SDR") of ECC, which is in liquidation under the provisions of the Insurer Receivership Act, Chapter 443 of the Texas Insurance Code.
Full payment of $243,928,545 to all holders of allowed ECC claims in Classes 1-6, as defined in Chapter 443.301 of the Texas Insurance Code, was substantially completed in 2009. This sum included amounts owed to two of ECC's subsidiaries, Employers National Insurance Company ("ENIC") and Employers of Texas Lloyds ("ETL"). Both of those companies were previously in receivership and their receivership proceedings were closed when all available funds had been distributed to their respective creditors.
As a result of funds distributed by the ECC SDR, the ENIC and ETL receiverships were reopened and consolidated with the ECC proceedings for purposes of joint administration. The receivership court order reopening ENIC and ETL appears in the Receivership Court Documents section of this website. Information concerning the SDR's activities in those estates will be posted on their respective pages of this website.
